Explosions heard in central part of Dnipro, Ukraine, amid air raid alert VIDEO / UPDATED

Drones have attacked Dnipro, with explosions reported in the city and residents urged to remain in safe places.

According to preliminary information, the strike hit a residential area in central Dnipro and a business centre, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Footage showing the aftermath of the incident has emerged online. Information about the damage and possible casualties is being clarified.

Explosions were heard in Dnipro on the morning of September 28 amid an air raid alert, according to Dnipro Operative.

A yellow-level air raid alert was declared in the city at 08:52 local time due to the threat of drone attacks, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force warned that jet-powered drones were moving towards Dnipro from the north and urged residents to take shelter and not ignore the air raid siren.

At around 08:59 local time, residents reported hearing explosions in the city.

There was no official information at the time about the cause of the explosions or any possible damage or casualties.

The air raid alert remained in effect in Dnipro and the surrounding region, with residents urged to remain in safe places.
