FAA contractor arrested over threat against Trump
A contractor for the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been arrested and charged after sending an email threatening President Donald Trump, US authorities say.
Dean DelleChiaie, from Nashua, New Hampshire, is accused of making an interstate communication of a threat following an email reportedly received by the White House on April 21, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
According to court documents cited by prosecutors, the message appeared to indicate an intention to “neutralise/kill” the president.
Investigators said DelleChiaie was suspended from his FAA role in mechanical engineering after the agency identified suspicious searches conducted on his work computer. These included queries related to bringing a firearm into a federal facility and references to killing the president.
The US Secret Service, in an affidavit, said the suspect also searched for personal information relating to senior officials, including Vice President JD Vance and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, as well as details about their families.
Authorities say DelleChiaie told investigators he carried out the searches while angered by a range of political issues, including the administration’s policies, pardons, and materials connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
