FBI director denies resignation rumours, affirms commitment to serve Trump
U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel has dismissed speculation about his possible resignation over alleged tensions with Attorney General Pam Bondi.
As reported by Caliber.Az, Patel addressed the rumours in a post on the social media platform X, calling them unfounded.
"The conspiracy theories just aren’t true, never have been. It’s an honor to serve the President of the United States, Donald Trump — and I’ll continue to do so for as long as he calls on me," Patel wrote.
This statement was in response to reports, including one from the Daily Wire, suggesting that Patel was frustrated with Bondi and might resign if his deputy, Dan Bongino, were to leave.
The tensions reportedly stemmed from a DOJ and FBI joint memo concluding that Epstein did not possess a “client list,” a claim that conflicted with earlier suggestions by Bondi, leading to friction within the administration. Despite these reports, Patel’s statement was supported by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who denied any discord between FBI and DOJ leadership on the memo’s contents. The White House also issued a statement emphasising unity within Trump’s law enforcement team, dismissing attempts to sow division as baseless.
