Five injured, including children, in mobile home blast in France
An explosion in a rented mobile home at a campground in the town of Pénestin left five people injured on the evening of May 1.
The incident occurred at around 7:00 p.m. local time, French media reports.
Preliminary findings suggest the blast may have been triggered by a sudden rush of air when a 62-year-old woman opened the door of the mobile home, though authorities have not confirmed the exact cause.
The injured include the woman and four children aged 8, 11, 12, and 13. Two of the children sustained severe burns and are reported to be in critical condition, while the other two suffered less serious injuries. The woman received burns to her hands but is not believed to be in life-threatening condition.
All five victims were transported to hospitals in Nantes for treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the precise circumstances of the explosion.
