The mayor of Ustroń in the Silesian Voivodeship, Paweł Sztefek, confirmed that a 50-year-old man’s body was discovered in a field in the city following the receding waters, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The devastating floods have also led to significant destruction, including demolished houses. Authorities are concerned that the death toll may rise as rescue teams continue to search through the wreckage.
Additionally, a car containing passengers was found in the town, but there is no information about their condition or whether they were local residents or visitors.
