FM Mirzoyan: Armenia interested in 'Persian Gulf-Black Sea' corridor
Yerevan and Teheran believe in the importance of forming a trilateral platform between Iran, Armenia and India.
As Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media outlets, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, stated this during a press-conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan amid his visit to Yerevan on October 20.
Abdollahian noted, that the preparation of a “Persian Gulf-Black Sea” corridor was discussed in great detail during the meeting of the two ministers and forms the center point of dialogues between Armenia and his country.
“Given India’s important role in this issue, we were in agreement that a tripartite platform should be formed to implement our plans on this path and enable working more effectively on this project”, he said.
The Armenian minister said that he believes that other countries are equally interested in the implementation of said project as are Armenia, Iran and Bulgaria and expressed his conviction that India is one of them.
Caliber.Az recalls that the Armenian Defence Minister, Suren Papikian, met his Indian counterpart, Sri Rajnath Singh, on October 18 within the framework of a defence exposition held in the West of India.
