Armenia eyes ambitious cooperation agenda with NATO
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska to discuss the ongoing development of Armenia-NATO relations.
The sides praised the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing that joint efforts have laid the groundwork for further deepening the partnership, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Minister Mirzoyan expressed optimism that the adoption of a new Armenia-NATO Partnership Program will create opportunities to advance relations with a more ambitious agenda.
The discussions covered a range of cooperation programs, including initiatives aimed at strengthening Armenia’s resilience and supporting ongoing reforms. The parties also highlighted the success of collaboration established through Armenia’s participation in NATO peacekeeping missions.
Minister Mirzoyan provided updates on recent progress in the normalization of relations with neighboring countries and commended NATO’s support for Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as efforts to maintain regional peace. The talks included deliberations on measures to further institutionalize peace in the region.
Additionally, Mirzoyan and Shekerinska explored opportunities arising from the unblocking of regional communications, emphasizing the potential for enhanced connectivity and cooperation in the South Caucasus.
