Armenian Security Council chief confirms regular talks with Azerbaijani presidential aide

Armenian Security Council Secretary Alen Simonyan said he has been in regular contact with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, as the two sides seek to preserve the peace process, Armenian media reports.

“Yes, I spoke with Hajiyev. I have his number, and he has mine. We talk every two days,” Simonyan told journalists in parliament.

He said the discussions focused on the need to take every possible step to preserve the peace process.

The comments come after Simonyan and Hajiyev held a meeting in Bishkek earlier this month. The talks focused on continuing discussions on the peace agenda.
