France to provide Ukraine with Mirage 2000 fighter jets in early 2025
French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu has written that France plans to provide Ukraine with Mirage 2000 fighter jets equipped with advanced air-to-ground missiles in January-March 2025.
"Deliveries of Mirage 2000 to Ukraine are scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. The aircraft will be armed with new air-to-ground munitions and equipped with electronic warfare systems," Caliber.Az reports, citing the Russian media.
Lecornu also emphasised that Paris is continuing to train pilots and mechanics for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced in summer 2024 that France would provide Ukraine with upgraded Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets, along with pilot training programmes set to be implemented "by the end of the year".
However, President Macron did not specify the number of combat aircraft that Paris plans to deliver to Kyiv.
