French citizens take to streets demanding Macron's resignation
A rally demanding the resignation of French President Emmanuel Macron took place in Paris, organized by The Patriots party.
Hundreds of people gathered in Denfert-Rochereau square, chanting slogans such as "Macron, resign!", "Macron, get out!", "Macron, you're finished: the French are in the streets!" The protesters are frustrated that more than 45 days after the snap parliamentary elections, France has still been unable to form a government, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The demonstrators also carried signs with messages like "Our democracy is undermined, everything is ruined, get out, Macron!" and "For our sovereignty, let's stop Macron."
Participants in the rally stated that the initiative of 58 deputies would be sufficient to trigger the mechanism of Article 68 of the French Constitution, which allows for the president to be removed from office if he is found to have violated his duties.
