Georgia may host exercises with US twice in 2024
In 2024, the Georgian authorities plan to hold Trojan Footprint special forces exercises and Noble Partner multinational maneuvers on their territory together with the United States.
The government program of the candidate for prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, sent to parliament states this, Pravda reports.
"In 2024, Georgia will host the Trojan Footprint exercises of the US European Command special Operations Forces, as well as the Georgian-American multinational Noble Partner exercises. At the same time, the Georgian military will take part in exercises planned by the United States abroad," the document says.
In addition, Georgia will continue to form a cyber command in the defense forces, and within the framework of cooperation with NATO, it will begin the implementation of a project to create a cyber laboratory, the program says.
Kobakhidze was nominated as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Georgia at the extraordinary congress of the ruling Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia party on February 1, after which he sent the composition of the future Cabinet of Ministers and its program to parliament. To approve the candidacy, the politician will have to enlist the support of at least 76 out of 150 MPs.
The post of Prime Minister of Georgia became vacant after Irakli Garibashvili announced his resignation on January 29. He took over the post of chairman of the ruling party.
