Türkiye, Russia unite for strategic talks on Middle Eastern challenges
On April 25, Türkiye and Russia wrapped up high-level consultations in Istanbul, focusing on critical Middle Eastern issues, especially Syria and Palestine, with both sides engaging in a comprehensive exchange of views on regional challenges and potential solutions.
The consultations, which were conducted at the level of deputy foreign ministers, saw Türkiye represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yılmaz, while Russia was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
During the talks, Yılmaz emphasized Türkiye’s primary goal concerning Syria—ensuring the country’s stability and security by upholding its territorial integrity and national unity. He highlighted that lifting sanctions against Syria would be the most effective means of supporting the Syrian administration both politically and financially.
Yılmaz also conveyed to the Russian delegation that achieving peace and stability in the Middle East—an area fraught with interlinked issues—requires a coordinated and comprehensive approach involving all stakeholders. He stressed the importance of a holistic perspective in addressing the ongoing challenges in the region.
