Aircraft, believed to be carrying Witkoff touches down in Moscow

25 April 2025 11:58

A private jet, thought to be transporting US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, has arrived in Moscow.

The aircraft, a Bombardier Global 7500 business jet, arrived at Vnukovo Airport after a direct flight from Miami, as tracked by Flightradar24, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.

Earlier, Axios reported that Witkoff may meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 25, citing an informed US source. The Kremlin has indicated it will provide further details should the meeting take place.

"We will inform you if and when new contacts occur between the president and Mr. Witkoff," said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

As a reminder, the last time Witkoff met with Putin in St. Petersburg on April 11, as Donald Trump called on the Kremlin leader to "get moving" on securing a ceasefire in Ukraine.

The Kremlin stated that the discussion, which lasted over four hours, centred on "aspects of a Ukrainian settlement." This was Witkoff’s third meeting with Putin this year, with special envoy Kirill Dmitriev describing it as "productive."

Trump has expressed growing frustration with the pace of negotiations, tweeting: "Russia has to get moving. Too many people ere [sic] DYING, thousands a week, in a terrible and senseless war."

Meanwhile, Trump’s Ukraine envoy, Keith Kellogg, denied suggesting that Ukraine could be partitioned.
