Russian electronic warfare systems developer killed in car explosion
Evgeny Rytnikov, a developer of electronic warfare (EW) systems, was killed in a car explosion.
The explosion occurred on the night of April 17 to 18, when an explosive device placed under the vehicle’s chassis detonated as Rytnikov was getting into the car with his colleague. The blast, believed to have involved shrapnel, caused both men to die instantly at the scene, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Rytnikov was the head of the design bureau at the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant and a key developer of the "Krasukha" EW systems.
On April 25, an explosion occurred in Balashikha, resulting in the death of 58-year-old Major General Yaroslav Moskalik, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the Russian General Staff.
