Georgian government calls for reciprocal cooperation with US

The Georgian government is open to cooperation and friendship with the US but emphasizes that the relationship should be reciprocal.

“Georgian government is ready for co-operation, friendship" with the US, but it "should be mutual," Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media that Kakha Kaladze, secretary general of the ruling Georgian Dream and mayor of Tbilisi, has said.

Kaladze expressed regret over the US Department of Defense's decision to indefinitely postpone the Worthy Partner military exercise, hoping for a change in approach and relations. He emphasized that Georgia cannot be a vassal to any nation and must remain an independent, sovereign state.

"Our ancestors fought and shed blood for this, and no one will be allowed to dictate to the Georgian government or force us into actions we know will be problematic for our state and population," he added.
