Georgian Military Road closed to heavy trucks due to bad weather

The movement of trucks was suspended on the section of the Georgian Military Road due to bad weather in Georgia.

“Due to the deterioration of weather conditions on the territory of Georgia, the impossibility of ensuring the safe passage of vehicles (...) the movement of heavy vehicles on the section Vladikavkaz - the settlement of Lars - in the direction of leaving the Russian Federation is prohibited from 01:20 Moscow time on February 23," Interfax reports, citing the Emergency Situations Ministry's Main Department in North Ossetia.

It is noted that the restrictions have been introduced until further notice.

The Georgian Military Road is currently the only land route connecting Georgia and Armenia with Russia.
