MKE unveils advanced TOLGA drone defence system at IDEF 2025 VIDEO
At the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025, Türkiye’s defence manufacturer Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş. (MKE) is showcasing its cutting-edge TOLGA Drone Defense System (DDS), developed to counter the evolving threat posed by next-generation drones.
The TOLGA DDS integrates a multi-layered defence strategy combining both electronic jamming (soft-kill) and physical destruction (hard-kill) to neutralise hostile drones effectively. The system is equipped with its own Command and Control Center, mobile radar stations, turreted weapon systems, and a specialised family of Tolga ammunition, Caliber.Az reports per SavunmaSanayiST.com post on X.

According to MKE, the system dynamically adapts its response based on the threat's distance, deploying different turret calibers to maximise neutralisation effectiveness. The defence layers include mobile radar stations that detect and track drone threats, instantly transmitting data to electronic jamming units to disrupt drone operations in the initial phase. The layers also includes turreted weapon systems providing 360-degree coverage, engaging targets with precision firepower in the second phase.
The turret options include:
-
35 mm turrets with a range up to 3,000 meters
-
20 mm turrets effective up to 1,000 meters
-
40 mm turrets covering distances up to 500 meters
-
12.7 mm turrets for close-range defence up to 300 meters
Designed with a modular architecture and rapid response capabilities, TOLGA DDS is suited for a variety of missions—from protecting fixed military bases to securing critical infrastructure against drone incursions.
