Azerbaijani FM meets Georgian president to boost strategic partnership UPDATED
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili underscored the dynamic expansion of the strategic partnership between the two countries during the meeting on July 22.
The meeting, in particular, focused on deepening cooperation in energy, transport, trade, investment, ecology, and humanitarian fields. Both sides welcomed the steady momentum in bilateral ties, pointing to the tangible contributions of large-scale joint initiatives to regional development and connectivity, Caliber.Az reports per the Foreign Ministry’s statement.
In light of ongoing global and regional challenges, the two leaders reiterated their firm support for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, characterizing these principles as essential pillars of their enduring partnership. They also stressed the need for continued efforts to promote peace and stability across the South Caucasus.
Foreign Minister Bayramov provided an update on Azerbaijan’s post-conflict reconstruction and restoration efforts in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as on the normalisation process with Armenia.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on broader regional security dynamics and other issues of mutual interest, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.

The sides emphasised the need to maintain high-level political dialogue and expand cooperation across key sectors such as trade, energy, transport, and regional connectivity, Caliber.Az reports, citing Foreign Ministry.

Both leaders welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral ties and expressed a shared commitment to strengthening regional stability and economic integration.
Earlier, Minister Bayramov and his Georgian counterpart Maka Botchorishvili reaffirmed the strategic partnership between their countries during talks in Tbilisi, focusing on expanding regional cooperation.
The ministers highlighted growing collaboration in energy, transport, trade, tourism, and education, emphasising major regional infrastructure such as the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline and the Middle Corridor’s role in boosting connectivity with Central Asia.
Bayramov briefed on Azerbaijan’s post-conflict reconstruction and peace talks with Armenia, voicing concern over Yerevan’s constitutional claims. He thanked Georgia for its mediation efforts.
Both sides stressed their commitment to high-level dialogue, cultural exchange, and multilateral cooperation, reaffirming a shared vision for a stable and interconnected South Caucasus.
