Azerbaijan's defense chief joins global military leaders at IDEF-2025 in Istanbul PHOTO
At the invitation of Türkiye’s Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, has arrived in Istanbul to attend the 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF-2025).
Hasanov is accompanied by a delegation of senior officials from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence.
According to a statement provided to Caliber.Az by the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry, the Azerbaijani delegation took part in the official opening ceremony of IDEF-2025 on July 22. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered welcoming remarks at the event, addressing international guests and participants.
As part of his visit, Colonel General Hasanov is expected to familiarise himself with a wide range of advanced weaponry and military equipment on display. In addition, he will hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the exhibition.
The IDEF-2025 fair is one of the world’s premier platforms for the defence and security sector.
Held under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, the event has attracted more than 1,000 high-ranking delegates from around the world. Attendees include heads of state, defence ministers, and senior military officials, highlighting the fair’s increasing global relevance.
This year’s exhibition features defence and aerospace manufacturers from 44 countries, with over 400 cutting-edge products being showcased. The displays cover a wide range of domains — including land, air, naval, and cyber defence — demonstrating the fast-paced advancements in military technology and innovation.
