The mayor of Kotovsk has urged residents to stay indoors for the next two days due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning following an attack on a Wildberries logistics centre.

A Wildberries logistics centre in the Russian city of Kotovsk, Tambov region, caught fire after a drone attack overnight, the regional governor said on August 26.

The governor said air-defence systems and mobile fire groups destroyed 16 drones, while the attack caused a fire at the warehouse covering more than 100,000 square metres.

All employees were evacuated after an alarm was raised. One Wildberries employee was injured by the blast wave and suffered a concussion, according to the governor.

A house in a nearby garden community also caught fire after a drone fell, he said.

Wildberries confirmed the attack on the Kotovsk warehouse and said it was not accepting new deliveries, according to Russian news outlet ASTRA.

The same Wildberries sorting centre was targeted in a drone attack on July 18. Seven night-shift employees were killed and 25 others were injured, according to ASTRA.
