Georgian PM rejects OSCE report, calls it "full of lies"
The report on Georgia prepared under the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s “Moscow Mechanism” has been criticised by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, who said the document is “full of lies.”
According to Caliber.Az, citing Georgian media, Kobakhidze rejected the conclusions presented in the report concerning the situation in Georgia.
“There is not a single repressive law in force in Georgia in the sense described by certain individuals. All laws serve a legitimate purpose, and all laws are proportionate. We are ready to review individually any law that these people have spoken about,” Kobakhidze said.
The prime minister’s comments were directed at the report prepared under the OSCE’s so-called “Moscow Mechanism,” a procedure used by the organisation to examine alleged human rights and democratic governance issues in member states.
