German Air Force conducts precision bombing exercises in Alaska
The German Air Force participated in the multinational exercise Pacific Skies 24, where crews of German Tornado aircraft practised dropping precision-guided bombs, Caliber.Az reports citing German media.
The exercises involved releasing projectiles from very low altitudes, with planes descending to 30 meters for stealthy approaches before swiftly climbing to execute their attacks.
The German Air Force utilized GBU-54 precision bombs equipped with laser guidance systems during these drills.
In addition to the Pacific Skies 24 exercise, the German Air Force has deployed over 30 fighter jets, helicopters, transport, and refuelling planes for five separate manoeuvres until mid-August. These include the Arctic Defender exercise in Alaska, Nippon Skies in Japan, Pitch Black in Australia, and Tarang Shakti 1 in India, highlighting their extensive operational reach beyond Europe.
