German vice chancellor raps nation’s intelligence agency over Ukraine miscalculation

German Vice-Chancellor from the Green Party and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck in an interview with journalist Stefan Lambi for his book “Emergency. Management during the war” criticized the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) of Germany for misjudging the situation before the start of the Russian “special operation in Ukraine,” the TV channel N-TV says.

According to Habeck, the German intelligence misjudged the situation around Ukraine, while British and US intelligence agencies warned of an imminent outbreak of hostilities.

“Other [German] intelligence agencies said: these are exercises, the worst will not come, but the worst has come,” Habeck added.
