Polish PM Tusk criticises President Nawrocki over Hungary visit
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has sharply criticised President Karol Nawrocki for his recent visit to Hungary and his support for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, RMF24 reports.
Tusk said Nawrocki’s trip to a “Friendship Day” event ran counter to the Polish government’s position. He also argued that meeting with Orbán during the Hungarian leader’s election campaign conflicts with Poland’s national interests.
“Supporting Prime Minister Orbán in his pro-Russian and anti-European actions is not in Poland’s interest. The President should uphold the government’s political line and avoid acting against Polish interests,” Tusk said.
He also highlighted delays in payments for military aid provided to Ukraine and noted close contacts between Hungarian and Russian diplomats, which media reports suggest may have included leaks of information from EU summits.
