“We strongly condemn the missile strike by Iran on the Peshmerga headquarters in Soran this morning, which resulted in the deaths of several heroic Peshmerga fighters and injuries to many others. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the fallen and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded. The Kurdistan region has always been a factor of peace and stability. We pursue a policy of non-interference, avoid conflicts, and do not pose a threat to the security of neighbouring countries. Therefore, this attack constitutes a direct hostile aggression against the country’s sovereignty, is unjustifiable, and is completely contrary to the principles of good neighbourliness. We call on the federal government of Iraq and the international community to intensify efforts to prevent such violations from recurring and to protect the sovereignty of Iraq and the Kurdistan region,” Barzani stated.
