Germany calls Baku, Yerevan for prompt resumption of talks
Participation in the Global Gateway program can bring Azerbaijan and Armenia closer.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock told reporters, Report says.
The Global Gateway stands for sustainable and trusted connections that work for people and the planet. It helps to tackle the most pressing global challenges, from fighting climate change, to improving health systems, and boosting competitiveness and security of global supply chains.
She noted that the European Union, including Germany, is ready to support Yerevan and Baku. “Germany and the European Union want to work together for stability in the South Caucasus.”
According to the minister, both sides must now adhere to the path of mutual trust.
Baerbock noted that Germany stands for the early resumption of negotiations between Baku and Yerevan.
“Germany stands for lasting peace, political and economic diversification of the region, close and good relations with Europe. Establishing trust and peace in the region is very important. The main goal is to ensure peace through negotiations.”
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will visit Yerevan and Baku on 3-4 November. Baerbock is expected to hold talks with Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov respectively and give joint news conferences.
