Azerbaijan, Kuwait deepen bilateral ties with new strategic agreements
Azerbaijan and Kuwait have taken a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations with the successful conclusion of the 3rd session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation, held in Kuwait.
The session was co-chaired by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Kuwaiti counterpart Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Caliber.Az reports citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The high-level meeting culminated in the signing of a comprehensive protocol and the establishment of mechanisms to ensure its effective implementation. A key outcome of the session was the adoption of a joint roadmap outlining strategic cooperation for the period 2025–2027.
The roadmap identifies priority areas for collaboration, including economic development, investment, and infrastructure, while also placing renewed emphasis on agriculture. A bilateral agreement on agricultural cooperation was formally signed, aiming to enhance food security, technology exchange, and trade in agricultural products.
In addition, both countries signed several programs related to cultural, sporting, and tourism activities, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering deeper people-to-people contacts and mutual understanding.
The two ministers also confirmed plans to hold the 4th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission in Baku in 2027, signaling continuity and long-term engagement in the evolving Azerbaijan–Kuwait partnership.
