EU observation mission conducts new surveillance near Azerbaijani border PHOTO
Members of the European Union’s observation mission stationed in Armenia have once again conducted surveillance activities along the country’s border with Azerbaijan.
On May 2, EU observers arrived in an area adjacent to Azerbaijan’s Zangilan district. Travelling in vehicles along the border road, the observers used binoculars to monitor the Azerbaijani territory, Caliber.Az reports, citing the local media.
Azerbaijani border guards maintained full oversight of the EU delegation’s movements, documenting their activities as part of routine security protocols.
This marks the latest instance in a series of similar monitoring operations carried out by the EU mission in Armenia, which has been regularly deploying personnel to areas near the Azerbaijani frontier. Footage and information related to these missions continue to circulate in Azerbaijani media.
The mandate of the European Union’s 200-member observation mission on Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan has been extended for another two years—until February 19, 2027.
