Germany clarifies arms exports to Israel, denies delivery of combat weapons
The German government has confirmed that it did not approve any deliveries of combat weapons to Israel between August 1 and October 17, despite having sanctioned arms exports during this period.
This clarification came in response to inquiries from Bundestag MP Sevim Dagdelen, a member of the “Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance – Reason and Justice” (BSW), Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the approved exports consisted solely of "other military products," which do not fall under the category of combat arms. The German government reiterated that it has not authorized any deliveries of combat arms since March, although it has emphasized that there is no blanket export ban in place, with decisions made on a case-by-case basis.
Combat arms encompass a range of weaponry, including small arms, tanks, and submarines, while the category of "other military products" includes items such as helmets, protective vests, military vehicles, and spare parts for military equipment.
