Germany deploys over 1,000 military vehicles to Lithuania for Quadriga-2025 drills
The German Bundeswehr has sent more than 1,000 pieces of military equipment to Lithuania for the multinational Quadriga-2025 exercises, a German armed forces spokesperson.
Armoured vehicles, tank transporters, medical trucks, and other equipment, along with accompanying personnel, were transported from Rostock, Germany, across the Baltic Sea in six shipments aboard two cargo vessels, Caliber.Az reports, citing German media.
Upon arrival at the port, the 37th Armored Brigade convoy proceeded to Pabradė and other Lithuanian military bases, according to the Bundeswehr representative. Soldiers from 13 NATO partner countries will work together to practice defending the Baltic region in the event of a military conflict.
More than 8,000 troops, 40 ships, 30 aircraft and helicopters, and over 1,800 vehicles are participating in the exercises, which include the deployment of forces and equipment by land, sea, and air.
This year’s manoeuvres are not officially NATO exercises and are partially overlapping in timing with the Russian-Belarusian Zapad-2025 drills, scheduled from September 12 to 16 in Belarus.
