Germany expects no problems with gas in heating season
Funke Media Group has announced that Germany does not expect a gas shortage for the current heating season, despite the recent increase in its consumption.
“The German private households and companies have used 7.2 per cent more gas since October than a year ago. Total consumption decreased by 13.9 per cent compared to 2018-2021,” Funke reports citing the Federal Network Agency of Germany.
“The storage facilities are about 90 per cent full and we have stable gas import. Germany is unlikely to have a gas shortage this winter,” the message said.
President of the German Federal Network Agency Klaus Muller said that a few cold days were not a cause for concern.
He called for continuing to save gas. Previously, Germany refused supplies from Russia and hopes for LNG, but the terminal capacity is not sufficient yet.
