Reform UK surges as Labour loses trust on key issues, poll shows
Labour is no longer the most trusted party on crime, healthcare, or the environment, according to a new Ipsos poll.
Voters instead place greater confidence in Reform UK to handle Britain’s future relationship with the EU, poverty and inequality, housing, and defence, Caliber.Az writes via The Telegraph.
The November survey revealed deep dissatisfaction with Labour leadership. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer registered a net negative satisfaction rating of 66, while Chancellor Rachel Reeves emerged as the most unpopular in history, with 71% of respondents expressing dissatisfaction.
A total of 66% of Britons surveyed said they did not believe Labour’s policies would improve the economy. The results put Reform UK leader Nigel Farage eight points ahead of Starmer as the preferred choice for Prime Minister.
Reform UK also leads Labour on key policy areas: asylum and immigration (35% vs. Labour’s 7%), crime and anti-social behaviour (24% vs. 9%), and Britain’s future relationship with the EU (21% vs. 11%). The party also tops Labour on housing (16% vs. 12%), unemployment (18% vs. 10 %), defence (16% vs. 12%), and poverty and inequality (16% vs. 12%).
The Green Party retains an advantage on environmental issues, with 36% of voters expressing trust in its policies compared with Labour’s 5%, while the Conservatives are seen as having the strongest policies for businesses (19% vs. 9% for Labour).
In terms of voting intention, Reform UK leads with 33%, followed by Labour on 18%, the Conservatives at 16%, the Greens on 15%, and the Liberal Democrats at 12%.
