Germany welcomes second petroleum shipment from Azerbaijan to Armenia
Germany has welcomed the recent petroleum deliveries from Azerbaijan to Armenia, describing them as a positive step toward normalising trade relations in the South Caucasus.
Niklas Wagner, Director for Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia at the German Federal Foreign Office, praised the delivery on X, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Yesterday, another shipment of petroleum made its way from Azerbaijan to Armenia — the second delivery in less than a month. It's encouraging to see important steps being taken toward normalization of trade relations in the region.”
The second batch, totaling 2,698 tons of petroleum — including 1,742 tons of AI-95 motor fuel and 956 tons of diesel — was sent in 48 railway wagons from the Bilajari station in Azerbaijan.
The first batch, delivered on December 18, included 1,220 tons of AI-95 motor fuel.
