Haber Global: Yerevan does not abandon revanchism card

27 September 2024 11:46

On the fourth anniversary of the historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, the Turkish Haber Global TV channel informed a wide audience about all stages of the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.

In a report titled “The Fourth Anniversary of the Second Karabakh War: The Path to Victory,” the TV channel cited the statement of President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev made on September 27, 2020, marking the beginning of the struggle for the complete expulsion of the occupants from Azerbaijani territory, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The TV channel notes that the continued shelling of Azerbaijani settlements by the Armenian Armed Forces became the last straw that overflowed the cup of patience for the Azerbaijani people.

“In response to the provocations of the Armenian side and continuous violations of the ceasefire, including the use of heavy weapons, President Ilham Aliyev ordered an offensive along the entire front line. The Azerbaijani army and people rallied around the ‘iron fist’ of the head of state. Military personnel were ready to give their lives for the sake of the Motherland, and mothers were prepared for their sons to become Shehids. Everyone realized that the liberation of Karabakh was a matter of honour and defence of the Motherland,” the report states.

The TV channel listed the stages of the valiant victory of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces during the 44-day war, noting that shortly after hostilities commenced, the town of Jabrayil was liberated, followed by the settlement of Hadrut on the route to Shusha. “By October 17, Azerbaijani servicemen de-occupied the town of Fuzuli; on October 20, they took full control of Zangilan, and five days later cleared Gubadli of occupants. Shusha, the pearl of Karabakh, was next in line. The liberation of the cultural capital of Azerbaijan was announced to the world on November 8 by President Ilham Aliyev: ‘Shusha. You are free!’”

The Turkish TV channel emphasizes that by the end of the 44-day war, Azerbaijan forced Armenia to acknowledge its defeat: “The Azerbaijani army put an end to the people's longing for historical lands. Five cities, four settlements, and 266 villages were de-occupied. Simultaneously, the cities of Aghdam, Kalbajar, and Lachin were returned without a single shot being fired or the loss of the sons of Azerbaijan.”

Haber Global's report highlights that 2,908 Azerbaijani servicemen became Shehids in the fight to liberate Azerbaijan's lands from Armenian occupation.

“During the 44-day war, the people of Azerbaijan were not alone. From the first days until Victory Day, Türkiye continuously declared its support for the brotherly country,” the story further emphasizes, noting that contrary to the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020, the Armenian side did not abandon its provocative policy and attempts to delay peace in the region. This is why the Azerbaijani Armed Forces conducted an anti-terrorist operation on September 19, 2023, putting a definitive end to separatism in Karabakh. Another victory was achieved at the cost of the lives of 204 shehids.

“Contrary to Baku's peace agenda, Yerevan is still not giving up the revanchism card. Western countries, especially France, are arming Armenia,” the Turkish TV channel's report noted.

Haber Global also emphasized Azerbaijan's efforts to restore the territories liberated from occupation, including the construction of roads, airports, and settlements based on the concept of “smart cities.” “The people of Azerbaijan are proudly returning to the lands of their ancestors!” the report concluded.
