"Harry Potter" actor Robbie Coltrane's cause of death revealed

Robbie Coltrane's cause of death has been revealed after his death certificate was registered in Glasgow.

The actor who brought Hagrid to life in all of the Harry Potter movies passed away at the age of 72 earlier this month. He died of multiple organ failure, according to Daily Star.

His former wife Rhona Gemmell is the one who filed the paperwork.

The publication noted that the certificate also mentioned "sepsis, lower respiratory tract infection, Type 2 diabetes, heart block and obesity" as contributors to his death.

A slew of Harry Potter stars took to social media to pay tribute to Robbie and their relationship with him after his passing. That included all three of the main leads – Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

"Robbie was one of the funniest people I've met and used to keep us laughing constantly as kids on the set," Daniel told Variety.  "I feel incredibly lucky that I got to meet and work with him and very sad that he’s passed. He was an incredible actor and a lovely man."

The cast has lost several other stars over the years, all of whom are dearly missed.
