Head of largest European defence firm resigns amid conflict with Polish MoD over slow production rates
The head of Europe's largest defence producer has resigned due to a conflict with Poland's Ministry of Defence over the slow production of 155mm artillery ammunition.
The exit of Krzysztof Trofiniak has been announced in an official statement on the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) website, Caliber.Az reports.
Polish media claim that his resignation was prompted by dissatisfaction from the Ministry of Defence regarding the slow production rate of these ammunition types—50,000 units per year—at state-owned enterprises, noting that this resignation had been planned for some time.
Trofiniak had assumed leadership of PGZ, one of the largest defence firms in Europe, with over 60 companies in the defence, shipbuilding, and new technologies industries, only back in 2024.
