Houthis target Israeli Orot Rabin power plant in bold military strike
Yemen's Ansarallah group (Houthis) has carried out a successful military strike on an electricity station located south of Haifa, Israel.
Yahya Saree, a spokesperson for Ansarallah, confirmed that the group's missile force hit the Orot Rabin power plant using a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile, Caliber.Az reports via Arab media.
He noted that the operation has successfully met its objectives. Saree further highlighted that the Houthis are focused on enhancing their military capabilities to align with the current stage and its specific needs, particularly to pressure Israel into halting its aggression on Gaza and lifting the blockade. The Israeli military claimed it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen shortly after sirens went off in Israel.
The missile, launched from Yemen, was reportedly intercepted before it reached Israeli territory, following the activation of sirens in Talmei Elazar, south of Haifa. The Houthis have launched attacks on Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza, in response to the ongoing Israeli offensive that started on October 7, 2023, which has resulted in more than 45,000 casualties, primarily women and children.
