International Criminal Court condemns US sanctions Stands Firm on Justice
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has condemned the US decision to impose sanctions on ICC officials.
The ICC also accused the US of undermining impartial judicial processes, Caliber.Az reports, citing the court’s statement on its website.
“We urge our 125 member states, civil society, and all nations worldwide to unite in the pursuit of justice and fundamental human rights,” the court said.
The ICC reaffirmed its strong support for its staff and its unwavering commitment to delivering justice in every case it handles.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump imposed financial sanctions and travel bans on ICC officials, citing their criticism and prosecution of US citizens, Israel, and other US allies. The White House highlighted that both the US and Israel are thriving democracies with military forces that strictly follow the laws of war. Previously, the ICC raised concerns that these new US sanctions could hinder its investigations across multiple countries.
