Iran internet blackout enters 76th day, NetBlocks says
Iran’s internet blackout has entered its 76th day, with access still restricted under a tiered system that allows connectivity for select groups while the wider population remains largely cut off, internet monitoring group NetBlocks said.
The group said the prolonged disruption has created a “class-based” access structure, where approved users retain limited connectivity to global networks while most citizens are confined to heavily restricted or domestic services.
NetBlocks added that the shutdown has lasted for more than 1,800 hours, making it one of the longest sustained internet restrictions globally.
Authorities have previously linked the measures to security concerns, while critics say they amount to extended information control.
