Iran rejects US control of Strait of Hormuz as "impossible"
A senior Iranian military representative has rejected any possibility of US control over the Strait of Hormuz, issuing a sharply worded statement amid ongoing regional tensions.
According to Tasnim, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, speaking on behalf of Iran’s central military headquarters Khatam al-Anbiya, said Washington would never succeed in establishing control over the strategic waterway.
In his remarks, Zolfaghari described what he called a “strategic mistake” by the United States and its allies, saying it had “humiliated” them and placed them on a path toward destruction. He argued that attempts to pressure Iran through information campaigns, displays of advanced military capabilities, and attacks targeting civilians, scientists, and military commanders would not succeed.
“They are mistaken if they think that through information warfare, the display of allegedly advanced weapons and equipment, and terrorist acts against children, women, men, scientists, and the brave commanders of the country’s armed forces, they can force mighty and proud Iran— which has never bowed its head to enemies in its history— to surrender, or achieve their dream of controlling the Strait of Hormuz,” Zolfaghari said, according to the agency.
