Iran, Russia and China submit joint letter to IAEA chief after Vienna talks
The ambassadors of Iran, Russia and China accredited to international organizations in Vienna held a joint meeting with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, to discuss recent developments related to Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.
According to Iranian media, the participants reviewed the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors and exchanged assessments of the latest issues connected with Iran’s nuclear activities.
At the conclusion of the discussions, which took place on Wednesday, the three diplomats presented Grossi with a joint letter outlining their shared positions and urging continued coordination and cooperation on the matter.
The Vienna consultations came one day after Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a second round of indirect talks with US representatives in Geneva. The first round of these contacts had previously been conducted on February 6 in Muscat.
The American delegation during both rounds of consultations was led by US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff together with Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.
