Iran’s internet blackout enters day 32 as digital isolation deepens
Iran’s internet blackout has entered its 32nd consecutive day, with most users cut off from the global web for more than 744 hours, according to internet monitoring group NetBlocks.
The prolonged disruption has left much of Iran digitally isolated from the outside world. While some domestic services remain accessible through the country’s national intranet, access to international websites and platforms remains largely unavailable, Caliber.Az reports per the group.
NetBlocks warned that the extended shutdown is creating mounting technical challenges. These include expired domain names and user accounts, as well as unpatched servers operating on an increasingly strained domestic network.
Experts say such conditions could heighten cybersecurity vulnerabilities and complicate efforts to restore full connectivity.
