Iran urges diplomacy as Afghanistan-Pakistan tensions rise
Iran has voiced deep concern over rising tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, urging both nations to pursue diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation.
Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the recent attacks in Kabul, noting the heavy losses suffered by Afghan civilians.
“We express our profound sorrow over the casualties and destruction that have impacted our neighboring country,” he said, according to a statement from the ministry’s press office.
Baghaei emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomatic engagement to de-escalate the situation and prevent additional conflict. He confirmed that Iran is prepared to offer any assistance necessary to help resolve disputes and reduce tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
