Iranian missile strike levels six-story Haifa building in Israel, four dead UPDATED
In Haifa, rescue teams have recovered four bodies from the rubble of a six-story building struck by a missile reportedly launched from Iran. The victims include an elderly couple, their son, and his fiancée.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the ballistic missile broke apart in mid-air, leading to a failure of the air defence system to intercept it. The interceptor missed its target due to the missile’s disintegration, and one of the warheads, which was not intercepted, hit the building, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
The impact caused one floor to collapse onto another, though residents who had taken shelter inside survived the attack unharmed. Rescue efforts are ongoing as authorities continue to search for any additional survivors or victims.

An Iranian missile strike hit a six-story residential building in the Israeli city of Haifa on the night of April 5, leaving two bodies recovered at the scene, while rescue teams continue searching for two others reported missing, according to foreign media.
Earlier, Israeli military officials stated that four people were trapped under the building’s rubble and unable to escape, as Brigadier General Elad Edri, head of the Home Front Command, said in a video statement.
Several other residents of the building were injured and have been hospitalised, Edri added.
