Ireland boosts support for Ukraine with €40M funding in 2026
Ireland will provide an extra €40 million in support to Ukraine for humanitarian needs and long-term development in 2026, Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Helen McEntee told reporters.
McEntee made the announcement in Kyiv, where she met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Caliber.Az reports via the official website of the Irish government.
The funds will support children, families, and residents in frontline areas, as well as aid the country’s recovery and its path toward EU membership, according to McEntee.
This allocation adds to the €25 million previously pledged for restoring critical energy infrastructure, bringing Ireland’s total aid to Ukraine in 2026 to €65 million—the highest level since Russia’s full-scale invasion. Aid will be distributed through UN agencies and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
