Israel enhances global security for diplomats, conducts emergency drills
Israel has stepped up security measures for its diplomatic missions and personnel worldwide following new threats, according to a joint statement by the country’s internal security service, Shin Bet, and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The measures include a significant reinforcement of the protection system for Israeli embassies, diplomats, delegations, and aviation-related facilities across multiple countries. Advanced technologies are being deployed to detect potential threats, including those originating from the air. The decision was taken following an assessment of the current security environment and specific threats directed at Israeli authorities.
According to the report by C14, the upgraded security framework involves expanding the operational capabilities of security teams and conducting special exercises designed to simulate emergency situations. These drills include extreme scenarios intended to ensure rapid response and effective evacuation procedures if required.
Israeli authorities have also intensified coordination with local security forces in countries across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa as part of the broader effort to strengthen protection.
The enhanced security regime incorporates both visible and covert measures around diplomatic facilities and personnel. Modern monitoring technologies are being used to identify and track potential threats, particularly aerial risks, which have reportedly increased in a number of countries in recent days.
Beyond official diplomatic sites, the new security arrangements also cover areas where Israeli citizens gather abroad, including waiting zones near flights. The Foreign Ministry stressed that alongside these precautions, consular support for Israeli citizens remains ongoing, with assistance available wherever it is required worldwide.
