Israel reports wave of strikes on Iranian military infrastructure in three cities

The Israel Defence Forces said the Israeli Air Force carried out a series of coordinated strikes on infrastructure linked to Iran’s leadership and military forces in several cities, including Tehran, Shiraz and Ahvaz.

According to the Israeli military, the operation was conducted the previous day based on intelligence gathered by the IDF and involved several simultaneous waves of airstrikes targeting what it described as the infrastructure of the Iranian government.

In Shiraz, located in southern Iran, Israeli aircraft struck an underground facility that the IDF said was used for the production and storage of ballistic missiles intended to be launched toward Israel.

In Tehran, Israeli forces targeted a central base associated with Iran’s air defence network along with additional compounds. The strikes also hit several facilities that, according to the Israeli military, were involved in the production of weapons, air defence systems and components for ballistic missiles.

At the same time, in Ahvaz in western Iran, Israeli aircraft struck command centres belonging to various Iranian state bodies, including facilities linked to the ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The operation also targeted a central command centre of the Iranian Internal Security Forces, which Israeli officials said coordinates activities between those forces and the Revolutionary Guard.

The Israeli military said dozens of Iranian personnel were present at the command centres during the strikes and accused them of being involved in planning and carrying out attacks against Israel and across the region.

The IDF said the operation forms part of the current phase of its campaign aimed at increasing pressure on the core military systems and operational capabilities of the Iranian leadership.
