Israel strengthens trade relations with Türkiye
Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Orna Barbivai has announced the resumption of the work of the Israeli Trade Attaché in Türkiye.
They will resume the work of the trade attaché of the ministry in Türkiye from August 1, Star.com.tr reports referring to a written statement from the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry.
“The trade attaché reflects Israel's determination to deepen economic relations with Türkiye,” O. Barbivai noted.
The Israeli Minister stated that "After more than ten years, we are committed to holding a joint economic conference between the two countries in the near future."
“Türkiye is an important economy for Israel's foreign trade. There are free trade agreements between the two countries. This potential of cooperation is beneficial for both countries,” Ohad Cohen, Director of the Foreign Trade Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Industry said.
The ministry's statement also notes that the resumption of trade attaches in Istanbul will affect approximately 1,540 Israeli companies currently exporting to the Turkish market and help strengthen their commercial activities.
The statement notes that Türkiye is Israel's fourth-largest trading partner.
Israel and Türkiye signed a free trade agreement in 1997.
