Israeli air force receives first refueling plane expanding its capability
A ceremony marking the induction of the first of its kind aerial refueling and military transport aircraft into the Israeli Air Force took place today under the leadership of IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Omer Tishler, the IDF has stated.
The militray said the Boeing KC-46 “Gideon” aircraft landed today at Nevatim Air Base and joined a newly formed tanker squadron that was established last week, Caliber.Az reports.
The aircraft is the first of six tankers purchased by the Israeli Defence Ministry procurement mission in the United States, as part of a broader effort to strengthen the IDF’s capabilities.
“The empire of evil of the ayatollah regime has suffered a significant crack, and its future and stability are shrouded in fog,” Zamir noted.
He made it clear that its leaders are being pursued, much of its military capability has been destroyed, “its nuclear program has been set back years; its economy is collapsing, and its citizens have not yet grasped the scale of the catastrophe brought upon them by the radical leadership.”
Tishler noted that from this runway, about two months ago, tanker aircraft took off carrying the entire Air Force toward Iran.
“(…) Even at this moment, the Air Force is in the sky — aircraft and personnel are operating in the air and on the ground, striking Hezbollah and regularly eliminating senior Hamas members in Gaza, while remaining prepared for any scenario on any front,” he stressed.
According to him, the Gideon which has just landed and now bears the emblem of the State of Israel Air Force, adds a significant element of power to the strategic capabilities of the force: more fuel, more cargo, farther, more efficiently.
