Israeli forces kill 100 Hezbollah militants, 60 command posts within week
Israeli military forces eliminated over 100 armed militants, 60 command posts, and dozens of military facilities belonging to Hezbollah during ground raids in southern Lebanon over the past week.
Within the last seven days, Israeli forces have destroyed 50 rocket launchers belonging to Hezbollah and detonated a 120-metre tunnel located just 500 metres from the border, Caliber.Az reports per Israeli media.
In a related incident, at least 40 people were injured when a drone launched from Lebanon crashed in the vicinity of the town of Binyamina in northern Israel. The N12 news channel reported that the use of drones near Binyamina has resulted in injuries to as many as 70 individuals.
“Since the beginning of the war, Hezbollah has launched over 14,000 rockets at Israel, and many others have been destroyed in airstrikes,” Galant remarked during the cabinet session.
He assured that the Israeli army’s ground operation in southern Lebanon “is proceeding as planned” and has “very clear objectives.”
Notably, on September 23, the Israeli army launched operation “Northern Arrows” against Hezbollah formations, which included extensive airstrikes targeting the group's military assets in Lebanon.
Following one of these strikes on September 27, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in Beirut.
The group confirmed his death and vowed to continue its resistance against Israel. Subsequently, on the night of October 1, the Israeli army announced the commencement of a ground operation in the border areas of southern Lebanon.
